Warren was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on December 20, 1944 and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. In his early years, he was an eagle scout and a member of a band that recorded for RCA Records. He later owned a locksmith business. Warren was an avid Gator football fan, and enjoyed driving his Mercedes convertible with his dog Bear in the front seat.
Warren was married to Vicky Duffer on August 30, 1996. They were married 19 wonderful years.
Warren is survived by his wife, Vicky, son Warren Watkins II, mother, Juanita Mathis Watkins, brothers: Guy Watkins, Roy Watkins, half-sister LaRaye Flowers, step-children: Diana Harn, Belita Courtney, Kendra Ware, Michael Ware, Terah Statum, and 21 Grandchildren. Warren is preceded in death by his father: Ray Guiden Watkins.
