

Mr. Wayne “Blue Granddaddy” Clark, 65, of Jacksonville, FL went home to be with his Lord & Savior on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 during his sleep. “Blue Grandaddy” was greeted in Heaven by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Clark, father, Woodrow Clark, brother, Ralph Clark and sister, Martha Clark.
He is survived by Janet Baysura, close friend and mother of his three children, Cameron (Joyce Gatewood) Clark of Clarksville, TV, Matthew (Missy) Clark of Jacksonville, FL and Mindy (William) Moore of Middleburg, FL; Eleven grandchildren, Hannah Meyer, Marissa Wilke, Tyler Gatewood, Lauren Clark, Ashlyn Moore, Ryan Clark, Kurt Clark, Emily Clark, Reyna Moore, Gavin Clark and “LittleFireman” Moore due March of 2018; sister, Janice Alig; brothers, Wilmer Clark, Don Clark and Tim Clark; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Clark attended Stetson University on an academic and baseball scholarship before honorably serving 4 years in the United States Air Force at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. After being discharged from the military, he landed his dream job with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, where after completing his Criminal Justice Degree and serving 1 year as a Correctional Officer he graduated from the academy at the top of his class, leading in both academics and marksmanship. Officer W.A. Clark dutifully and proudly served his city for 21 years as a patrolman, evidence technician, motorcycle patrolman and member of the JSO Wolf Pack. After retiring he served another 9 years as a sworn bailiff. Mr. Clark enjoyed making a positive difference in the lives of others and was well known to many for his big heart, warm charitable personality and willingness to help anyone in need. From his early years to his last day he was a faithful servant of Christ, his faith in God never wavering. He never missed an opportunity to minister the word of God, even ministering to prison inmates while living in Dothan, AL.
Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Cemetery, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road N. Jacksonville, FL 32225 and officiated by Pastor Tim Martin of First Baptist Church of Middleburg.
In honor of Blue Granddaddy wear your Florida Gators or “Gator Blue” attired! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
