

William L. Burford (Bill) went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2015. He was born in Camilla, GA on May 12, 1922. Bill graduated from Taylor County High School in 1940 in Perry, FL. He served in the United States Army and World War II. Later he attended Pharmaceutical School at the University of Florida. He was a member of First Coast Baptist Church. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruby McKenzie Burford, parents Clifford and Velma Burford, brothers Stanley, Walter, Shelton and Leslie. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Burford, 2 daughters Patsy Melton Ermi (John) of Crestline, OH and Sandra Melton Addy (Dwayne) of Jacksonville, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude and thanks to the staff of the Taylor Home for their loving care and to the care givers of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Samuel C. Taylor Foundation (reference Taylor Home - Long Term Care facility – WL Burford) and mailed to 6601 Chester Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32217. Your contribution is tax deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
