William L. Mobley Sr., 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born August 13, 1931 to Lynnwood and Vivian Mobley in Whigham, GA. Billy worked with CSX Railroad for 42 years as a conductor. With as much effort and hard work that he put into working , he put into his two favorite pastimes which were fishing and hunting. He was a long time Mason and a member of Riverview Lodge in Jacksonville, FL. Billy is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Opal and one daughter Shirley Adkins. He is survived by two sons Rick (Annette) Mobley, William L. (Joy) Mobley Jr., one brother Gary Mobley, two sisters Francis Creamer Fender, Lydia Moxley, four grandchildren Nathan Mobley, Josh Mobley, Shane Mobley, Kerra Mobley, two great-grandchilren Caleb Mobley and Wyatt Mobley. A visitation for friends will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 12:00pm in the chapel with interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
