He served in the United States Navy for 4 years; worked at Florida Rock Concrete 21 years; Southern Concrete 22 years; Security Guard 15 years for Fernandina Papermill.
He was a loving father. He loved everyone, nature, life itself and the color purple. He was a Christian and believed in Jesus Christ.
Those who preceded him were his son, Frankie Pickett; grandsons, Auston Pickett and Michael Pickett, Jr; sisters, Doris, Thelma, Gracie, Gladys, and Bertha.
He is survived by his children, Michael Pickett, Delilah Meece, Sherry Moody, Angie Selman and Deborah Robinson, and sister, Ethel Steed. He had 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Willis Pickett on June 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N. Main St., Jacksonville, FL 32206, with Military Honors, at 12:00 p.m.
