Yok, known as “Sherman” by family and friends, was born in China, was proud of his U.S. citizenship and was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Appalachian from January 1943 to March 1946.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Dod Hop Hom; mother, Wong Wai Yung; and sister, Mae Wong (Boston, MA). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Mae Ngo Hom; loving and devoted daughters Belinda Barrett (Randy) and Elaine Cole; loving and devoted son, Jamie Hom; his loving and devoted granddaughters Jennifer Blair and Kiersten McGuinness (Jeffrey); and the loves of his life, his great-grandchildren Gauge Blair, Bradley McGuinness, Jocelee Moody and Alleigh McGuinness; and sister, Betsy Wong (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m.
