Paul Michael Medlick

Paul M. Medlick, 93 of Jefferson, PA, passed away at 9:52 PM, Friday, September 11, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born on September 12, 1932, in Rosedale, PA, a son of the late Michael Medlick and Mary Student Medlick.

He graduated from Jefferson Morgan High School and was employed at Mather Mines from 1950 until drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1955.

He graduated from Waynesburg College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During his studies at Waynesburg College he was the President of the Delta Iota chapter of the Alpha Kappa PSI and a member of the Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity. Mr. Medlick enrolled at West Virginia University in September 1958 and obtained a Masters Degree in Education in 1959. In the summer of 1960, he enrolled at the West Virginia University to continue his studies in post graduate work. He attended classes and seminars at Penn State University, Washington and Jefferson College, Indiana University, Ohio State and the University of Colorado at Boulder and at San Jose University in California.

He was employed as the Lake County school district as a teacher in Painesville, Ohio. He was a plant manager for Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Toronto, Canada. He was responsible for the warehouse supervision, purchasing, personnel development, and inventory control. He was employed at Lone Pine Elementary School 1967-1969. He accepted a position as Assistant Hospital Administrator at the Greene County Memorial Hospital from 1969 until 1974. He was employed at the Nemacolin Mine and became director of training for the Gateway, Bobtown and Emeral Mines. He was a case worker for Children and Youth Services of Greene County from 1990 until his retirement in 1998.

He was Post Commander for two years and Post Historian for six years with the Jefferson American Legion Post #954. He attended two American Legion Conventions held in Harrisburg and one convention held in King of Prussia just west of Philadelphia, PA.

He was the oldest of eight children. Brothers Edward and Robert are deceased as well as sisters Frances, Kathleen and Margaret (who died in infancy). He is survived by sisters Eleanore Smith of Munrow Falls, Ohio and Jean (Mark) Juliani of Cecil, PA. Also preceding him in death are his youngest son Samual and grandson Duane Edward Christy, Jr.

On November 28, 1959, he married Mary Pascuzzo of Carmichaels, PA who passed away on July 12, 1967. Surviving are their 5 Children: Angela Marie Brewer, Paul Michael Medlick Jr., John Edward Medlick (and William Hopkinson), Kathleen Anne Thistlethwaite and husband Michael, Barbara Michele Christy and husband Duane; 5 Grandchildren: Tiffany (Domenic Kalaski) , Maria (Jacob) Christy, Brandon Brewer, Jodi (Brad) Hall and Jordan Matthew Thistlethwaite, 2 Great-Grandchildren: Lucas (Payge) Hall and Isaac Hall, 2 Sisters: and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in the Behm Funeral Home, Inc. 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344 Faith B. Lefort-Funeral Director where a Blessing service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2026 with Deacon Barry Krofcheck as celebrant. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Twp., PA 15370. Graveside Military Rites to be accorded by the Greene County Veterans.
