He was born August 31, 1930, in Masontown, a son of the late Joseph and Nancy Burchianti Confortini.
Sil was a 1949 graduate of Jefferson High School and a 1953 graduate of Waynesburg College, with a Bachelor of Science degree. He had also done some graduate work at West Virginia University and California University.
He was a retired social studies teacher at the Jefferson-Morgan High School for 36 years, retiring in 1991.
On June 8, 1953, he married Jennie Manfredi, who died June 27, 2017. They lived all their 64 years of marriage in Mather.
Sil was a former member of the Clarksville Lions Club and had served on the board during the development of the Lions Medical Center in Dry Tavern.
All his married life he was a parishioner of St. Marcellus Church of St. Matthias Parish, where he had been an active member of the parish council and the Knights of Columbus.
He loved watching his Pirates, Steelers, and Grit tv. He most enjoyed golfing and gardening. And most of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is his son, Dean (Sharon) Confortini of Mather; two granddaughters, Dereka (Derek) Ridgway of Houston, and Erin (Alex) Keiser of Harmony; a grandson, Joe (Cammi) Confortini of Kittery, ME; great granddaughters, Makayla, Kamrynn, Rowan, Brenley, and Addelyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents, the love of his life, Jennie; a son, Marion; and a brother Marion, who died in the Battle of the Bulge during WW II.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 4 to 7 pm in the Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Marcellus Worship site of St. Matthias Parish, Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, with Fr. Tom Lewandowski as celebrant. Interment will follow I Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation to the St. Marcellus of St. Matthias Parish.
