

Beloved husband of Judy for 50 years. Loving father of Skip (Joany) Carlson, Connie (Nick) Houff, Cristin (Craig) Doble, and Robin (Brian) Prina, and father-in-law of Joe Raccosta. Proud grandfather of Brian (Denise) Carlson, Eric Carlson, Jamie (Matt) Delmonte, Kellie (Matt) Busa, Zachary Houff, Dakota Houff, Andrew (Bre) Prina, Thomas Prina, Katherine Prina, and Theodore Doble. Cherished great-grandfather of Katie Carlson and Kellie Carlson. Dear brother of Eileen (Jerry) Kaplan. Alfred will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. Alfred was preceded in passing by his parents, Florence and Alfred Carlson Sr.; his first wife, Barbara Carlson; his daughter, Cynthia Raccosta; and his brother, James Carlson.
Alfred proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War era in the 1950s. His military service was a source of pride and reflected the loyalty, dedication, and strong sense of responsibility that he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, Alfred built a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 41 years in Labor Relations, working with both hourly and salaried personnel.
Throughout his life, Alfred had a great love of sports. He was an avid baseball player, fan, and coach and enjoyed sharing his passion for the game with others. A true sports enthusiast, he especially enjoyed watching football and golf. He also loved golfing with family and friends, was an avid reader, and treasured traveling and creating memories with his family.
Alfred took great pride in his home and particularly enjoyed caring for his yard and landscaping. He was a practical and hardworking man who appreciated a job well done and took pride in the life he built for his family.
Above all, Alfred will be remembered as a wonderful and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was generous, loyal, and, dependable. His devotion to his family and the many memories they shared will remain an important part of his legacy.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Friday, August 21, 2026 from 10:00am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00am at Family Funeral Care, 2904 Orchard Lake Road, Keego Harbor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Alfred’s memory.
