Lee was born the daughter of Paul and Annie Bailey, in Beckley, West Virginia, on July 1, 1938. She graduated from Beckley High School, class of 1956. Lee married Leonard Stempien on June 6, 1964 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan and raised her family in West Bloomfield.
Lee was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. She was a caregiver throughout her life bringing happiness to others. Lee enjoyed reading, gardening, and taking walks with neighbors.
Lee is survived by her loving husband Leonard of 58 years; children Paul (Jodi) Stempien and Steve (Jennifer) Stempien; grandchildren Gabriellle, Colin, and Kate.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 6, 2022 at 11 a.m., (instate 10:30 a.m.), at Our lady of Refuge Catholic Church, located at 3700 Commerce Road in Orchard Lake, Michigan.
Memorial contributions may be made in Lee’s honor to Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church.
