Bob Lyons

Robert ‘Bob’ Lyons, 76, passed away on June 5, 2017. Husband to Carol for 48 years; father to Shelby (Dave) Kolka, Courtenay (Carl Erickson) Lyons, and Mindy (Kendrick Blackstock) Lyons; grandfather to Wyatt Kolka, Adelaide Kolka, Josephine Kolka, Caroline Kolka, and Vivian Erickson; brother to Mary Lou (Gary) Fillmore and Carole Phillips. Bob was born to the late Elsie and Robert Lyons on April 7, 1941, in Detroit. He graduated from St. Mary’s of Redford High School and earned his B.S. from the University of Detroit. Bob founded Lyons Financial Group and proudly served the City of Detroit Police and Fire Departments for nearly 40 years providing financial and retirement planning. Bob enjoyed family, friends, his career, laughter, cars, boats, sports and Lake Charlevoix. In lieu of flowers, Bob had requested that donations be made to Michigan Concerns of Police Survivors (MI-C.O.P.S.).
