It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Derrick on 7/15/26, at the age of 38.
Derrick was a one-of-a-kind soul whose creativity, laughter, and love left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a gifted designer and talented makeup artist with an incredible eye for beauty. Proudly known as the “Queen of Drag,” Derrick embraced life with confidence, passion, and authenticity, inspiring others to do the same.
He loved music, dancing, and gardening, and he could light up any room with his vibrant personality. Derrick was truly the life of the party, with a charming touch of awkwardness that only made him more lovable. He had a heart full of kindness, a quick wit that made everyone laugh, and a gentle spirit that made people feel seen and loved.
Above all, Derrick cherished time with the people he loved most. He adored his husband, Tito, and their beloved baby Bruno, who brought him endless happiness. He treasured every moment spent with his nieces and nephews—Jayden, Naomi, Giovanni, Kataleya, Eliana, Jameson, Lorenzo, Aaron, and Joshua—and loved making memories with them.
Derrick leaves behind his loving mother, Gina; his stepfather, Paulie; his devoted husband, Tito; his siblings, Thalia, Tatiana, Mercedez, and Mario; his brother-in-laws, Joe and Daniel; his sister-in-law, Yamileth; his mother-in-law, Reyna; his cherished nieces and nephews; and countless extended family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by his love, laughter, and beautiful spirit.
Though our hearts are shattered, we find comfort in the countless memories Derrick gave us. His creativity, compassion, humor, and light will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 24, 2026 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at Family Funeral Care, 2904 Orchard Lake Road, Keego Harbor. Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we honor Derrick’s life, share stories, and celebrate the remarkable person he was.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
