Donna was born the daughter of Gerald and Elaine (Andre) Kleiner on December 31, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Marian High School in Birmingham, Michigan, class of 1963. Donna entered the Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary community In Saco, Maine in 1964. For 20 years she served troubled children and unwed mothers in Maine and Massachusetts. Along the way, Donna earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine. Upon returning to Michigan, Donna earned her LCSW degree from Wayne State University and began social work for Crittenton Hospital and Guest House.
Donna loved humanity, serving in social work her entire life. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling the world including Africa, England, Germany, China, and Canada where she visited the IHM Motherhouse.
Donna is survived by her siblings David (Marge) Kleiner and Diane Marion; nieces Cheryl (Toni) Kleiner, Debbie (Ryan) Smith, and Jennifer (Kane) Begeman; nephews Brian (Karen) Kleiner, Kevin (Vikki) Kleiner, Ron Kleiner, Michael (Michele) Marion, James Marion, Philip Marion, and Michael Kleiner; and great nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her parents; and brother Douglas “Duke” Kleiner; and brother-in-law Michael Marion.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday October 11, 2025, from 10am until the time of the memorial service at noon at Family Funeral Care, located at 2904 Orchard Lake Road in Keego Harbor, Michigan.
