Edelgard Else Renate Conradt DuBruck, PhD. – Born November 1, 1925 – Died February 10, 2016, Age 90. Born in Breslau, Germany, the only child of Willy and Edelgard Conradt, widow of Alfred DuBruck and mother of Alfred DuBruck II of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. DuBruck immigrated to America in 1951, attending and achieving her Master’s and Doctorate in Philosophy (1962) from the University of Michigan. She was a retired professor of Marygrove College, a multilingual scholar and co-founder/co-editor/contributor of the journal “Fifteenth-Century Studies”, which was published annually in many languages and countries. Her honors include: Michigan’s Academy of Science’s Arts and Letters Citation (1979); and Phi Beta Kappa Society’s recognition for her contributions and support (2006). Edelgard was a longtime member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in West Bloomfield. She will be missed by friends young and old alike.
