Forrest (“Bee”) Gordon Wolfe, age 89, passed away peacefully in West Bloomfield, Michigan on May 18, 2023, surrounded by family. He was born on June 12, 1933. He attended Manistique High School, where he became Senior Class President and met his wife, Donna Agnes MacGregor; she was elected Vice President. He had after-school work as a bowling pin setter, and summer work as a road flagman and on Lake Michigan fishing boats. He attended University of Michigan for his freshman year of college, later pursuing electrical engineering studies at Lawrence Technological University. After marriage on February 14, 1953, he was drafted into the Army and sent to Fort Monmouth in New Jersey. Following military service, he moved to the Detroit area and began a career with Ford Motor Company. He became an electrician, and eventually, an electrical design engineer. To support his family in the early years, he often did freelance electrical work and built circuit boards in the evening. Forrest traveled to Ford plants around the country and to Canada, Mexico and Japan.
Forrest’s family was his priority and he loved to hear their talk and laughter as they visited and attended the holiday gatherings and pool parties that he hosted. He maintained a family genealogy, enjoyed working with computers, Sudoku puzzles, reading western and action novels, telling stories, watching television news and westerns, and caring for his three cats.
Forrest was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents Luella and Marland Wolfe, his brother Corporal Rodney Wolfe and brother Wayne Wolfe. He is survived by his children Lynda Ayn Wolfe, William Wallace Wolfe and Robert Marland Wolfe; brothers Earling (“Joe”) Wolfe and Kenneth Wolfe; eleven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Forrest will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in Manistique, Michigan, with his wife, Donna. A celebration of both of their lives for family and close friends is in planning for mid-summer.
