Frank William Smith

Frank William Smith, of Waterford, Michigan passed away Sunday March 15, 2020. Frank, the son of Hallie and Nellie (Dunlap) Smith, was born April 9,1933 in South Charleston, West Virginia. He joined the US. Army and served as a Medical Aidman in Germany. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal. Frank met Lois Miller at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital where they both worked. They married on June 20 1964 in Clarkston, Michigan. Frank worked at Pontiac Motors, retiring in 1994. He and Lois raised their family in Waterford. Frank was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting music, movies, and other items he found at garage sales. Frank shared his wisdom regarding the importance of caring and respecting everyone. He said you should never cause trouble for others This is how he lived his life.Frank is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois (Miller); children Margaret (Stephen) McCarthy, Yvonne Johnson; grandchildren Maria, Michael, and Meghan; siblings Larry (Carol) and Arnold (Judy) Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Hallie and Nellie (Dunlap) Smith; and sisters Mary Wall, Hilda Seagraves, and Claudine LaMouria. Frank’s family will welcome all for a visitation on Wednesday March 18th from 2pm until 8pm and on Thursday March 19th from 10am until the time of funeral service at 11am at Family Funeral Care, located at 2904 Orchard Lake Rd in Keego Harbor. Interment Christian Memorial, Rochester MI.

So sorry for your loss. Frank was an amazing man. I have always held him I'm high regard. He walked me down the isle at my wedding. I always loved it when Frank and his family came to visit.. all amazing people. Will always hold you dear to my heart Frank. Love you.

I am sorry for your loss. Frank was a truly kind man. He always treated us like gold whenever he saw us. He was always thoughtful and caring. He made a point of it and it's something I will never forget. I will always hold him in high regard.
