Jim was a mentor to me as a young account man at D'Arcy. When I started, he began to receive many of my phone calls since our last name was so similar. Jim was the consummate gentlemen and a man of class. I think he always knew what was truly important in this life. I had lunch with him this past summer and I am so glad I took the time to do that. He set a standard for many of us to follow and I will always remember him fondly. Keith Ulrich

Jim was my first boss in the advertising business when I came fresh out of Michigan State University in Marketing.
He was such a mentor and an incredible account man who taught me how to create great relationships with all my clients.

He also loved and supported MSU and we had a great time discussing sports and major events.

He had great writing skills and also knew how to have fun with clients and friends alike.

He will be missed by all. A true mentor to me!

Worked with Jim at D'Arcy. He was really a true friend. Always a pleasure to be with him . Fortunately,he considered only the good side of everyone including his D'arcy clients. A great loss to his many friends. Lu Di Salvo

To the Aldrich Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. I met Jim back in the 70s when I started in the ad biz at D'Arcy. He was a genuine guy who had a heart of gold and a good sense of humor. He was a great friend and colleague who I will always remember with a smile.

We have all lost a great guy...a true friend, a smart businessman, a red-white-and-blue patriot. He made even the gnarliest work problems seem like fun. I miss him already and always will.
