To say you shine thru your students is an understatement.I will never forget how much grace and love you gave me. I am a better person for having known you. Thank you for investing in me and others. I love you and will never forget you. I was so blessed to see you in your last days.

Jane was one of, if not, the most impressive women I have ever known.  Smart, cheerful, dedicated, thoughtful, kind, humble, loving, and an inspiration to all.   She contributed a great deal to many and will always be remembered.   I am lucky to have known her.

Memories at Hero’s restaurant with all the teachers at Lincoln junior high.

Mrs. Paterra was my homeroom teacher at Lincoln Jr High as well as several classes.  She was an amazing teacher and person.  Many years later when we found each other on Facebook we communicated occasionally and talked on the phone a couple times.  We planned on meeting up but never did and I'm sad we didn't get to.  She was always encouraging when I had bad days.  She will be greatly missed.

She was an excellent teacher, mentor, and role model. The memories of her will remain a Blessing to all that knew her🙏

Thanks you Mrs.Paterra for everything you have done for me and my family.  You will always be in my thoughts and you will be missed.

Ang, this Tom and Sandy Penfield, we are both so grateful Tom & I reconnected with your Mom. Unfortunately it was after Nickers passed. However we did keep in touch even when she was in the hospital. Although she couldn’t speak we messenger and text her. It was shortly before she passed that we had a conversation. I tried reaching out and Tom tried to call but we did not get a reply. Now we know why. We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was an amazing person! When we came to visit a few times in Sylvan Lake and when you all came to Oregon we had so much fun. She was so warm and welcoming. The last time we visited was a few years after your Dad passed. Just great memories of all of you.

Jane was a wonderful friend. She was incredibly loving and took care of everyone. She always noticed when I was at home during a school day and made sure to check on me. When I was sick, she would drop off soup or ask if there was anything I needed. She even made a sack lunch once for me to take to work. I enjoyed telling her how jealous this made the other teachers. She also had an amazing sense of humor. We always had a lot of fun together, talking or playing cards. I miss her so much and am so thankful to have had her in my life. <3

Dear family...this is Sue Scofield.  I'm Jo's sister.  I first met Jane when I was about 19.  I'd gone to Michigan to stay with Jo, so that I could see a doctor.  I first remember Jane as a bubbly, fun-loving woman who was Jo's roommate.  I knew that I wanted to be just like her...she drew people in with her outgoing and loving personality.  The last couple of years we became closer again through correspondence.  She would send me notes of encouragement just when I needed them the most.  I will always be grateful for those notes.  I have loved and admired her from afar.  She will be missed by me.

My favorite teacher - who believed in everyone of her students.  She will be missed.

We are so sorry to hear about Aunt Jane's passing. She and Uncle Dominic always welcomed us into their home and I remember those days fondly. I know the Lord will receive her with open arms.
