

She was born September 6, 1945 Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Jane, unwavering in her faith, was predeceased by parents, John M. Ferguson and Helen F. Sherman; brothers, John and David; her beloved Dominics: husband and son. Jane is survived by her daughters: Angeli Paterra, Domini Ellis, Nancy Paterra,and Leslie Paterra; granddaughter, Ella Sword; grandsons: Victor and Michael Ellis, Lorde Paterra Severson; sister, Susan Hardin; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane attended Ball State and Michigan State Universities and became an excellent teacher and role model to Pontiac students. Chosen “Teacher of the Year” in 1989, Jane was recognized for being the exceptional teacher she was. She remembered, vividly, every student in every class; they remembered her. Jane loved entertaining, reading, swimming in her pool, playing cards, and playing the numbers. Jane’s daughters invite all extended family, former students, colleagues, friends to a celebration of Jane’s life.
Celebration of life to begin at 2:00 p.m., June 25, 2023; eulogy and remembrances will begin at 2:30pm at the Sylvan Lake Community Center, 2456 Pontiac Dr., Sylvan Lake, MI 48320.
