Jason Evan Phalen, age 47, of Rochester Hills, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2025. Born on December 25, 1977, Jason was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Carol Cohoon and Harry and Mary Lou Phalen, as well as his father, Curtis Phalen. He is survived by his mother, Laura Phalen; his siblings, Paul (Rebecca) Phalen and Catherine Najera; his nieces and nephews; and his aunts and uncles. Jason was a devoted dog dad to his beloved Lucy and a proud “uncle” to the family cats, Jasper and Papaya. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1997 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from St. Mary’s College. He had a passion for scuba diving and often traveled to explore new dive sites. Jason also loved playing guitar and sharing his music with others. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jason’s name to the Humane Society.
