OBITUARY

Jeff Changas

April 28, 1967February 16, 2021

John “Jeff” Jeffery Changas, age 53, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, due to heart complications. He was born on April 28th, 1967, in Detroit, to John and Barbara Changas. Jeff Graduated from Walled Lake Highschool and from Michigan State University with a degree in Advertising. Jeff led a successful and exciting life that allowed him to travel the world. He didn’t praise himself on his career accomplishments because he believed and often said, “that it was more important to be a successful human being.” He was a successful human being by eliminating the negative in his life, being kind, generous and always putting the needs of others before his own needs. For Jeff, living life this way was inspired by his brother. Survived by his mother, Barbara Changas; life Partner/fiancé, Lisa Crafton; in-laws, Leon and Linda Crafton; brother, Cliff Yokom; two sisters, Claudia Eversole and Maggie Demeter; niece, Jessie Demeter; nephew, Cody Demeter; and many aunts and cousins. There will be no service because he didn’t believe in the ritual and he never wanted to put his family and friends through the awful ordeal of seeing him in that state. Instead, he didn’t want anyone to be sad for him, he wanted everyone to remember him as he was and continue to celebrate their own lives.

r.i.p. Jeff!...You were the best @ taking a tune and twisting it to some of the funniest things I've ever heard!

I will remember Jeff as being one of the funniest ppl I ever met. In addition. To his humor, he was very talented musically. May he rest in eternal peace.

Jeff, was one of my best friends through high school and college. We had some of the best get togethers at his house growing up, you all know what I’m talking about.. He was one of the funniest buddies I had. He was very talented in anything he did. He will be missed greatly. Sad day for all of his friends and family.

R.I.P my old roommate. I am sure laughter and smiles followed you to the end. No doubt to continue for those lucky enough to have found it.

I met Jeff when I was in college at Michigan State. He became one of my best friends in the whole world. We shared a great love of Monty Python and comedy of all sorts. I have met a lot of brilliantly funny people in my life but none of them even came close to Changie. His incredibly unique way of communicating and expressing himself has spawned dozens of Changieisms that populate my vocabularly more than 3 decades later. We lost touch a few times over the years but whenever we would reconnect, it would be just like we saw each other last Tuesday. I talked to him a few months ago and got the chance to tell him how much his friendship meant to me. Changie, you were one of a kind my brotha and you will be sorely missed.
