John Mereau Dawson, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2016. Son of the late Fredrick and Fernade Dawson . Husband of Norma Grace (Moore) Dawson for 66 years. Father of Lynda Moore, John and Paula Dawson and the late Laura Clifford. Grandpa to 8 grandchildren Kim, Hilary, Melissa, Pilar, Kira, Kai, John, and Joey. 4 great grandchildren Kelsey, Kolby, Cassidy, and Nolan. Preceded in death by his siblings Margaret Dawson, Charles Dawson, Freda Walton, and Mary Roeper. John served in the US Navy with tours in the Pacific, South Africa and Europe as a machinist mate. John retired from General Motors after 53 years and also served as a councilman for the City of Sylvan Lake from 1961-1964. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
