John Robert Stangis Sr.

John Robert Stangis, Sr., age 83, of West Bloomfield, MI, died August 14, 2018. John was born on September 27, 1934 in River Rouge, son of the late John A. and Arbutus Stangis. He was a veteran of the US Navy and had retired from Ford Motor Company. John married Deanna Lee Locke on November 28, 1959. He is survived by his wife Deanna; children Lisa Lee Stangis, John Robert Stangis, Jr., and Kathryn Lynn Potchynok; grandchildren Alicia Lynn Hansen and Brendan Jhon Stangis; great grandchild Blair Kathleen Hansen; and brother Richard William Stangis. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday , August 18, 2018, at Our Lady of Refuge Church, 3700 Commerce Road, West Bloomfield. Fr. Gerald McEnhill celebrant. The family will receive friends Saturday at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Refuge Church.
