Joseph J. Davis, Sr., 88 of Bloomfield Hills, died January 7, 2013. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan and was a resident of Bloomfield Township for 58 years. Beloved husband of Betty L. Davis (1991). Loving father of Deborah (Stephen) Isgrigg, Vicki (the late Robert) Flook, Colin (Cindy), Roxanne (William) Davis-Sharp, (the late) Bonnie (Jeffery) Ebel, Joseph Jr. (Kathy). Dearest grandfather of twelve and great-grandfather of eight. He was a WWII veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, 96th “Deadeyes” Infantry Division as a combat medic in the Philippines and Okinawa. The 96th was given a Presidential Commendation for their action in the Pacific Theater. Among other medals, he was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor, for which he was very proud. In 1976, after 30 years, he retired from General Motors, Fisher Body, Tool and Die Division. After Retirement he had an active career in the recycling business. Visitation Friday January 11th from 3-8pm at the Pixley Funeral Home Godhart-Tomlinson Chapel, 2904 Orchard Lake Rd., Keego Harbor. Funeral Service Saturday January 12th 11am at the funeral home.
