Karen was born the daughter of Milton and Mollie (Dichter) Litvin in The Bronx, New York on May 8, 1952. Karen grew up in Queens and graduated high school from Martin Van Buren High School, class of 1969. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Karen raised her family in West Bloomfield. She had a career as an audiologist.
Karen enjoyed good music, movies and loved to dance and scrapbook. She cherished her children and grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her sons Scott (Marissa) Root and Michael (Kelly Fink) Root; and grandchildren Molly and Anthony Root. She was predeceased by her parents; son Daniel Root; and her brother Larry Litvin.
Interment will be private at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Brownstown Township, Michigan.
