Born on June 4, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, Luther was the beloved son of Imogene and Luther Howard. He grew up in the Rochester area and attended Rochester High School. After graduation, Luther joined the family business, Howard's Disposal, where he worked alongside his father and eventually retired.
Luther was a gifted musician who found great joy in playing his guitar. He had a deep love for classic rock and country music, often filling his home with familiar tunes. Luther was extremely knowledgeable about all things music, he knew the history of different bands and musicians and could tell you who was in what band. His creativity also extended into drawing beautiful pictures. In his quiet moments, Luther enjoyed watching Jeopardy! and testing his knowledge on a wide range of topics.
Above all, Luther treasured time with his family. Whether gathered for holidays, casual visits, or special moments, he valued every connection and made lasting memories with those he loved most.
Luther is survived by his siblings: Janice Howard, Robert Howard, Al (Gail) Howard, and Garry (Sue) Howard; nieces and nephews: Shawn (Ron) Freeman, Allen Howard Jr., Michael (Tracy) Howard, Daryl McAllister, Rhonda Phillips, Aaron Howard, and Amy (Nicole) Howard; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins who will miss him dearly.
Luther’s legacy lives on in the music he played, the memories he created, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.
