Just found out on FB about Max. We were very close in highschool, I'd hang out with him and his family, loved his mom like one of my own. Max was very creative and had a fantastic personality. Miss you buddy!

Wow. I just found out about Max.

I met him in 1997 and to the many mutual friends that we had and I, he was "Max Wilde" rather than Mike Boyd. He was an artist in the classic sense of the word; the world he lived in was one of his choosing, his creation. He was always working on some amazing new painting, often recreating some of his favorite movie still-frames in watercolors. The man was extremely talented.

Max could be extremely challenging to his friends. The sensitive, willful artist side of him manifested in ways that were both tender and endearing as well as difficult and stubborn. I don't think it tarnishes his memory to say as much. Most often when I think of Max, I think of his sweet side, the side that wanted to listen to his friends and be involved and help out as best he could.

We had a bit of a falling out. I hadn't spoken to him in years and I'd told myself that eventually I would reach out and rectify that. That opportunity is gone. That stings.

He was a good person who deserved more time on Earth.

My condolences.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of your brother, Mike. I remember that look he would give when he said something funny and was watching and waiting to catch the reaction on your face. I have homecoming pictures of Karen Lyons with Mike. Please know you and you family are in my thoughts.

Mike will not be forgotten. He taught us different ways to listen to music; different ways to see art.
