Michael Vincent Litwin, age 79, of Commerce Township, was born November 20, 1945 and passed away April 24, 2025. Beloved husband of Lana Litwin for 55 years. Loving brother of John (the late Vicki) Litwin, Christine (John) Sanguinetti, Mary Lou (David) Taptich, and Julie Ann (John) Kaake. Proud uncle of Stephanie (David) Stevens, Annie (Daniel Grujic) Sanguinetti, Michael (Leeann) Taptich, Jeffrey (Kady Grenier) Taptich, Amy (Chris) Sheridan, and Megan (Brad) Gomoluch. Treasured great-uncle of Jolene, London, Elliot, Lucy, Josie, and Emilia. Michael will be missed by numerous other family members and friends. Michael was preceded in passing by his parents, Felix and Josephine Litwin.
Michael was inducted into the U.S. Army in February 1969. He completed his training as a medical corpsman at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, before being deployed to Vietnam from July 1969 to July 1970. For his extraordinary bravery and service, he was awarded the Medal of Honor and honorably discharged upon completing his duty.
Burial with Military Honors will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 at 10:00am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly.
