Nothing Gold Can Stay

By Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.

Aunt Nancy was only ten years older than me but a true aunt in every way. She was a loving, kind, thoughtful person and could be very silly. That's what I will remember the most. Every time I saw her we laughed and I received the hug of all hugs! She cared so much about the people she loved and had a way of making you feel special. I will always miss her.

Aunt Nancy and I always found something to laugh about when we saw each other. This is my second attempt writing this. First one ended with me panicking because I attached a picture that was not meant to be attached. Thankfully I was able to just start over. I know she was laughing. Family was so important to her. She planned the Christmas party every year. She never wanted to talk about herself but wanted to hear about what was going on with everyone else. No matter how bad she felt she always kept her sense of humor. Rest In Peace Aunt Nancy. Carl, Carl,Andy and Stephanie you all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Aunt Nancy will be deeply missed.

I remember playing with Nancy & my sisters. We would make up dances, play school and have sleepovers. A few years ago we recounted those days with hugs & laughter. God bless you & bring you peace Carl & family.

Aunt Nancy was my godmother and such a joy in my life. We spent many times together enjoying the zoo, birthdays, family gatherings and more. I am so saddened at the loss of such a beautiful soul. And send condolences to her family who also loved her as much as I did.
