Patricia (Patty) Mason was born January 15, 1958 to loving parents Lorraine and Vern Mason. She was raised with surviving siblings Nancy (Pat) Devereaux, David (Linda) Mason, Rosie (Brian) Sexton, Robert (Jen) Mason, Teresa (Dave) Woolcox, Mickey (Allen) Gill, and Patrick (Heidi) Mason in Keego Harbor, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving sister Mimi (Frank) Watts. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and coworkers that were bonus family.
After graduating from West Bloomfield High School she took classes at Oakland Community College and joined Warren Johnson Flowers as a florist where she took pride in making beautiful flower arrangements for all types of life’s events for 25 years. Then she joined Hare Freight/Point Dedicated for another 25 years, working full time until just 2 weeks prior to passing. She took great pride in her work as “the Payroll Department” where she was loving known as Payroll Patty.
Beyond those accomplishments, she always insisted that her greatest creation was her daughter Jennifer (Robert) Romanczuk. She loved to tell anyone who would listen about the family that she loved. She loved her granddaughters, Zoey and Lily Romanczuk, more than life itself. She also had a deep love for her “bonus daughter” Natalee (Jerrod) Clement, as well as bonus grandson, Tommy.
She was the life of the party with a personality that could fill a football stadium. She always had an inappropriate joke or story that would leave everyone listening in tears of laughter.
She passed unexpectedly on Sunday April 28, 2024 with her sister Rosie and brother Patrick at her side.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given care of Jen Romanczuk, to provide meals and treats to the nurses and staff on the 9th floor of Karmanos Hospital in Detroit, as well as Dr. Winer, and the Rochester Hills Fire Department and Paramedics for providing great care with love to Patty within the last two weeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 4th 2024 from 2-7 pm at The Dealership Event Venue in Oxford, MI. Open house style. Please wear yellow (her favorite color), florals (to celebrate her love of being a florist) or red (IYKYK). Be ready to enjoy her favorite foods, play games and share memories of Patty. Please bring a CD or Vinyl of music she enjoyed to play during the event. She wanted her memorial to be a family friendly gathering full of joy and laughter.
