Robert Harry Knust

Robert H. Knust, born on June 22, 1939 in Jersey City, New Jersey, was the beloved son of Marge and Harry Knust. He passed away on June 28, 2026, in West Bloomfield, Michigan, surrounded by the love of his family.

Robert was a proud student at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina. He later earned his degree from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey in August 1971. His education, determination and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for a successful career as a business owner. He was respected not only for his professional accomplishments, but also for his integrity, work ethic and leadership.

Beyond his professional life, Robert found great joy on the golf course. An avid golfer, he treasured the friendships, competition and peaceful moments the game provided throughout his life. He was also a devoted University of Michigan football fan, and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Wolverines.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his first wife Louise and brother Ronald.

Above all, Robert’s greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife Jane; his daughter, Jennifer Knust (Christopher) Gordon, his granddaughters Ava and Daniella Gordon, and his stepdaughters Lynn Upson and Lesley Upson (Chris Carmer). He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.

Robert will be remembered for his strength of character, unwavering dedication to his family and the kindness he shared with those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew him.

Burial will be private at Pine Lake Cemetery, West Bloomfield, Michigan.
