Robert Marvin Radner passed away at age 95 of Parkinson’s, on June 6, 2026 at home in Orchard Lake, Michigan. Born in Detroit to Joseph and Celia Radner, the middle of three children, Bob knew from the age of 4 that he wanted to be an attorney. A proud graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan Law School, Bob was thrilled to have been honored by the Michigan Bar Association in 2022 for 70 years as a member. He also served in the military during the Korean War, stationed in Munich, Germany. He was amazed at his long life, which he never took for granted, and he readily admitted that the smartest thing he ever did was to find and hold onto his life partner of 40 years, the wonderful and beautiful Beate Sturges.
Bob was dedicated to his three children, Rick Radner, who predeceased him, Nancy Radner (Eric Smith) and Ron Radner (Shawna Radner) and was blessed with seven grandchildren, Noa Baron (Silas Kotnour), Asher Baron, Alexander Radner, Jonathan Radner, Katie Radner, Hannah Radner and Abigail Radner. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Tyner. His brother, Howard Radner, predeceased him.
Never one to avoid an argument, he was also playful and loving—“roughhousing” in the pool in Miami Beach, wildly competitive games of Pounce, and watching the annual Thanksgiving Day Lions game with his son even though he didn’t much like football. He loved laughter and physical fitness, was a proud Toastmasters member (which somehow didn’t improve his joke telling) and did Pilates and lifted weights well into his 90’s. He could quote Shakespeare at will, was more than happy to tell you what you should do, but never forgot to say I love you.
The sound of his delighted laughter will be missed very much.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, 1pm to 5pm at the home of Beate Sturges, 3585 Wards Point Drive, Orchard Lake, Michigan.
