Mrs. Sharon Nancy (Cohoon) Barrett passed away peacefully at The Courtyard at Auburn Hills, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family on November 3, 2025. Sharon was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 7, 1942, to Harold and Roberta (Kenyon) Cohoon.
She was a proud graduate of Hillman High School. On June 11, 1960, Sharon married the love of her life, Donald L. Barrett, Sr. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage before Don’s passing. Sharon devoted her early years to being a homemaker while raising her children and later spent her winters preparing income taxes.
Sharon is survived by her loving children: Robin (Red) Husted of Lewiston; Donnie (Patty) Barrett of Grand Blanc; and Nancy (Patrick) Thomas of Rochester. She was the proud grandmother of Darin (Sara) Plinski of Clarkston; Adam (Gabbi Byers) Barrett of Clio; Ashlee (Dan) Hansen of Burton; Veronica, Nadia, Tyler, and Jada Thomas, all of Rochester. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emily and Matthew Plinski of Clarkston; Caleb and Ethan Hansen of Burton; and Oliver Barrett of Clio. She is further survived by her brother, Larry (Janet) Cohoon of Hillman, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sharon loved being outdoors and had a deep affection for children and babies. She cherished family trips to Canada for fishing and camping, and she enjoyed snowmobiling and dune buggy rides with friends and family. Her happiest moments were when her home was filled with loved ones. Sharon had a generous heart, always ready to help anyone in need and welcome them as family. She treasured her friendship with Ginny Hendershot of Clearspring, Maryland; their shopping trips and visits to the casino always brought her joy. Sharon also loved to dance, especially the polka, and she and Don were well known for being the first couple on the dance floor.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will remember Sharon privately at this time.
