With heavy hearts and warm memories, our family announces the passing of our beloved Walter Breton — known to many as Walt or Sonny — a sweet and steadfast soul who would do anything for anyone. Known for his stubborn streak, his ever-present kindness, and his uncanny knack for both spilling his coffee and bumping his head on just about everything, he brought laughter and love into every room he entered.
A lifelong dog lover, he shared his days with many loyal companions who were always by his side, often sneaking treats from his hand and naps at his feet. He was married for 62 remarkable years to the love of his life, Irene, and together they built a legacy of love and devotion that will carry on through their family.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. The family invites those who loved him to celebrate his life in their own quiet ways, perhaps with a warm cup of coffee, a walk with a dog, a moment of kindness offered to someone in need, spending time with loved ones, or by giving to an animal charity of your choice.
Walt is survived by his loving wife, Irene; their two children, Dennis and Ken (Tracy); their grandchildren Amanda (John), Nathan, Katie (Jeremy), Oliver, Emily, Gigi, Iris, and Sabine; and their great-grandchildren Atom, Mia, Conor, and Rosie. Each of them carries a piece of his gentle spirit, his humor, and his unwavering love.
He leaves behind a world made brighter by his presence, and a family forever grateful for the love he gave so freely.
