Alice Patterson, 96, went to meet the Lord on May 1, 2021. She was born on August 16, 1924 in Delta, Colorado. After high school, she joined the Women’s Army Corp (WACS) to travel and see the world. She served at Battle Creek, Michigan and then Germany. In Europe, she visited Holland, Switzerland, France, and all over Germany. She was married to SGT Major Virgil (Pat) Patterson for 37 years. They lived in Oklahoma, Japan, Washington, Louisiana, Germany and Texas. Alice worked in Civil Service and retired in 1985. She lived in Killeen for over 60 years before moving to Belton. Alice was a life-long member of East Side Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. Her Christian faith was always serving others, as well as sending cards to everyone for every occasion! Alice was preceded in death by, her husband, her mother (Myrtle), and her two sisters (Lois and Louise). She is survived by, three children: Patricia (Berry) Langford, Patrick (Amy) Patterson, and Brenda (Jesse) Del Valle, six grandchildren: Ryan and Jeff Patterson, Jacob and Cory Langford, Desirae Lassend, and Ashley Del Valle, seven great grandchildren: Joshua Wilcutt, Keanu and Konoa Lassend, Riley and Sara Patterson, and Adalene and Candice Langford. She is also survived by, her only niece, Linda Flannery, and two nephews, Don and Gary Stapleton. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Stoney Brook Living of Belton and the Copassus Hospice staff for providing such wonderful and loving care. In lieu of flowers, donation to Samaritan’s Purse or a charity of your choice would bring her great joy.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of services. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday May 13, 2021 at the funeral home. Chapel service will be 1:30pm followed by, a 3:00pm burial with military honors at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
