Alma Roberta Bird

Alma was born on December 25, 1928 in Houston, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Sam Houston State University. She taught school for 32 years and retired in 1993.

Alma married her be-loved husband, Rollon Bird, who preceded her in death, in November of 1995.

Alma loved, sewing, cooking and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Robin Bird, Phyllis Bird Little, and Elissa Bird Garcia; five grandchildren, Lisa Ribble, Carlynn Garza, Savannah Santiago, Anthony Santiago, and Jessie Ross as well as eight great grandchildren; Kylar Ribble, Meric Garza, Khi’ra Powell, Melaina Garza, Matthew Santiago, Kaleb Street, Emerald Santiago, and Jaxen Street.

The Bird family will receive guests for a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. A Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the chapel of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest privately alone side her beloved husband Rollon in San Angelo, TX.

Mom, we love you. The family wants everyone to know that their mother and father are reunited in Heaven.
