Father Alphonse arrived at Our Mother of Sorrows just about a year before I did. Since we were both fairly new to town, we quickly found many things to bond. I will forever miss his sweet smile, laughter, homilies and stories of India. But my favorite memory is when he came to my classroom full of 11 year old girls and was asked why women can't be priests. My daughter, being the one who asked, had exhausted Father for nearly 2 hours in the debate. Father finally won with one word...FAITH. He blessed my students and I'm sure he took Excedrin after that. My daughter is now 19 and it, too, is one of her favorite memories.

Father, you are one of the Holiest men I have ever met. Your faith and your heart are so beautiful. We love you and will miss you so very much. God's blessings...Amy, Sami and Ashley
