Alwanda LaRue Nickell

LaRue was born September 13, 1938, in Lamesa, Texas.

LaRue served as a steadfast military wife, adapting to change gracefully. LaRue served as secretary for the Lampasas County Sheriff’s department.

LaRue is survived by her children, Trudy and Randy Hatmaker of Leander, Texas, her son Justin Nickell of Leander, Texas, and her five grandchildren: Shianne Hatmaker, Sgt. Devon Hatmaker, Kaleb Nickell, Cole Nickell, and Melanie Muirhead. LaRue is also survived by her sister, Pat Davis of Morgan Mill, Texas and her brother, Lynn Kinsey of Morgan Mill, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

LaRue was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John M. Nickell, her brother, Thurl Kinsey, of Stephenville , Texas, her mother, Gladys Kinsey, and her parents, Arvil and Ruby Kinsey, of Morgan Mill, Texas.

LaRue extended kindness and graciousness to all she met. Beautiful, loving wife, mother, and friend, who will be missed beyond words.
