Services for Ms. Amanda Howard Rivers, 82, of Louisiana, formerly of Killeen will be 11 am Friday, October 17, 2014 at Anderson Chapel AME in Killeen. Burial will follow in the Killeen City Cemetery.
Amanda departed this life on October 7, 2014 at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, LA. She was born August 22, 1932 in Ringgold, LA to Hessie and Mary Lou Bryant Howard.
Ms. Amanda Rivers was a graduate of Winn Training School and she spent 2 years at Grambling State University, Grambling, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years Mr. Dale Rivers, 2 sisters, 1 brother, her father Mr. Hessie Howard and her adopted parents Carmeal and Jerry Claude McKinney.
Those left to cherish her memories: Jocelyn Powers (Maulton) & (Jazzy), Kristin Douglas (Kassidy), Gloria J. Moore, Jerry Rushing (Sharon), a host of Nieces, Cousins, Friends and a Special Sister Pearlie White.
A time of visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
