A year ago tonight is when you went home to be with Matt, Grandma, Josie, Libby and Jesus.  My heart remains broken as I think of you everyday and miss you so very much.  The sorrow of not seeing you when I come home, or hearing the sounds of your laughter or your words of wisdom is unbearable.  You were such a great Dad, you were so good to all of us.  I cherish all my loving memories of you and I Thank God everyday that you are my Dad and I had you in my life for 46 years.  I will continue to love and cherish you all the days of my life.

Dear Papa,
It's been a restless few days for me as I think of my first  Father's Day without you.  Time has not lessen how much I miss you, how much I love you and how very much I long to hear your voice or the warmth of your hugs.  I know you are near me, often guiding me, I feel your presence from time to time and hope you will always be my guardian angel.  As I think of you...I am so proud to call you my Papa.  For the love, support, guidance, appreciation, and for never giving up on all five of your children.  You have shown us through your actions that love can transcend the test of time, that first love's do exist, that there is good in everyone, that you work hard and commit yourself to good deeds, that love of country and honor is irreplaceable, that intergrity and honestly should be your calling card, that nothing can pass an afternoon like a great war movie and hot buttered popcorn, that knowing history can make you look smart, and that you should always be the peace maker, and chose your battles carefully, that prayers at night and saying the rosary while driving calms the nervous, that hot fresh coffee anytime of the day is delicious, and that no matter what the past held--the future is always brighter.  You taught me so very much, even without having a role model yourself--you give all of us your unconditional love and heart.  I miss you.  I love you more than ever and wish you a Father's Day in heaven with Matt, Grandma and Josie.

Missing you even more today than the first moment we said good-bye.  I think of your smile, your laughter, the sound of your voice when you call my name and those warm hugs of yours.  Sometimes the sorrow seems unbearable.  I love you so much and look forward to seeing you my dreams!

My Dear Papa,
This week has been an emotional ride knowing that this will be our first Thanksgiving without you.  I will miss the smell of your favorite coffee brewing, the sound of the TV blasting with coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and seeing you get excited about the people, the entertainment and most of all the floats!  
Celebrating the holidays without will be difficult.  I visited with Moma yesterday and laughed remembering some of the silly things you would sometimes do and say.  My life without you and Matthew has changed forever--but I am marching on and moving forward.  I know you both have been guiding me as I make decisions and I find peace when I receive visits from you both while dreaming.  
I wore your coat and gloves last week as we experienced our first cold front.  Placing my hands in your big gloves made me feel like you were holding my hand and that made it all the better.  
Your spirit fills the house and I know you are there.  
Happy Thanksgiving Papa, I know you will be with our love ones in heaven.

Papa,
It's only been three months since your passing but it feels like forever.  I  find myself during the early morning hours reaching for the phone to wish you a Good morning.  Funny how your mind tries to protect you but old habits are hard to change.  There are a million things that remind me that you are with me, but it doesn't replace the sound of your voice or those loving hugs of yours.
Each time I enter your house, I imagine you resting in your room or sitting in your recliner watching some old western movie.  There were lots of good times and memorable conversations.  
Good days and bad days is the state I am in now, just like a wave of water sometimes crashing down on me and others just as still as can be.  I often think of you and how much you love me.  And knew as you did that we had a special father daughter bond. Your love is still guiding me and the warmth of your presence surrounds me.  
Your headstone arrived last week and how my heart ache to see it.  I was filled with mixed emotions.  Happy to see it so beautiful and painful to know how final it is.  
The other day it stormed and I was waiting for your call to tell me to watch for lightning and thunder!  :)   I miss those calls but the ones I miss the most were the ones when you called just to tell me how much you loved me.
My heart still breaks for you and I truly miss you.

It broke my heart to hear that Andy had passed away . He was always so kind and a great co worker  while at TDC. My prayers are with his wife and children . I pray that all your memories will help you get through the days ahead. . I am also sad to hear of the loss of your son . I didn't know he had passed . God be with you always . Dear Papa,
This has been the longest and most difficult month in my life. Losing you has left a deeper emptiness in my heart and spirit. You were my hero and my best sounding board, your voice made me feel as if "all is good in the world and everything will always turn out ok".  
We all miss you-from your grand kids, to the dogs. 
Everyone tells me that time will heal my sadness and time goes on but the thought of not seeing you, speaking with you and caring for you continues to fill my day. 
I have good days and bad days, often thinking of the last time we were together, the conversations we had, and your last hug and kiss. 
Each night I look into the sky and know you and Matt are there. I always look for the brightest stars and know it's the two of you.  You were in my life for 45 years and as silly as it sounds--a piece of me wanted to believe super Hero's never die and live forever.

Dear Papa,
Today is the day that you left us to be with God, Matt, Grandma and Auntie Josie.  I think of you every moment of the day and I listen to your last voicemail often.
Mama and I went to church today and it wasn't the same not having you with us.  Everything reminds me of you, a drive to Starbucks, the oldies on the radio, even the clouds in the sky.  I find myself reliving every conversation, every little gesture you had, and oh how I close my eyes and hear your laughter.  I miss you so so dearly.
I gathered your favorite t-shirts last night and I will be making a nice, warm cozy blanket-it will be like a big hug from heaven every night I sleep with it.

Bailey misses you and seems sad too, he sleeps in the hallway in front of your bedroom door.  During the day he follows me around and doesn't move far from where you fell.  

Life without you will be difficult for all of us.  I am posting pictures of you and all your happy moments which were filled with you and your grandkids.  We will be strong and will press forward, for that is what I know you would want us to do.

One of my greatest memories of you was when I was a kid. 
And every single time I make pancakes, those memories come to my mind. 
When all my brothers and I were little and you were home you'd make pancakes for all of us. 
What a treat that was from you. 
We would all get so excited when you'd make us pancakes!  
You'd even ask us what shape we'd want them in , and would try your best to make that happen. I'll never forget that memory of you. Also, thank you for sending me a Christmas card every year. 
Both you and Josie were so loving and caring to all of us growing up. 
You are a great man. 
You are in a better place now. No more pain and suffering. 
You will be missed.

  I did not know you very well, being that you lived in Texas while I was growing up, but I would always hear your mom (Francis) talking about you as you were in the service and she always spoke of you so proudly and your family. I remember seeing the pictures of you and always having this positive image of you and hoping that I would grow up and have my own mom brag about me as much as your mom did of you. I also remember hearing, when I was younger that you were always a family man and that you always put your family first, and that made me want to be the same way. It's kind of funny to think that I got such a positive image growing up from someone that I hardly knew, but yet had such a impact on me.I guess, that goes to show, just how much of a great man that you were if you can effect someone so far away and yet never really knew them.I'm just sorry that I never got to tell you this. Rest in peace.
