Anna was born February 1st, 1940 in Dwight, Kansas to Catherine Weeks (Henricks) and Oral Weeks, as one of eight siblings. While a senior in high school, she met Jimmy Monroe Williams stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. After dating for about a year and a half, she married Jim on December 5th, 1958. Having never been out of the country, she boarded a plane, then a train by herself to follow her love to Germany. While in Germany she continued with college and gave birth to her first daughter with no family nearby. Later they returned to the states where she gave birth to her second daughter in Kansas. Together, they did two tours in Germany, and returning to the states when her husband served two tours in Vietnam. They came to Texas in 1971 to be stationed at Fort Hood. Anna began working on Fort Hood as a waitress at the Mini Dome and NCO/Officer’s Club. In 1974, Anna & Jim decided to make Killeen, Texas their forever home when he retired from the Army. Here, as a wonderful surprise, Anna gave birth to their only son. Anna continued working on Fort Hood, later at the Sports Dome and Community Events & Bingo Center until retiring in 2007.
