Avanell was 93 years old, born March 12, 1923 in Hermleigh, Texas to David and Nanny Kinney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, David Cockerham and Larry Cockerham; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Avanell is survived by her husband of 48 years, James C. Henderson; 4 grandchildren: David, Stacia, Monica and Terry; 7 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.
