

Bobbie was born on December 7, 1940, in Apalachicola, Florida, to Harvey C. Barfield and Pinky Mae Nash Barfield. At an early age, her family moved to Texas City, Texas, where she grew up as the eldest of four children. Even as a young woman, Bobbie's intelligence and drive were evident. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1958, serving on the debate team and earning distinction as a National Merit Scholar.
While attending Sam Houston State College, Bobbie met the love of her life, Charles Rex Weaver, on Splash Day in Galveston, Texas, on May 1, 1959. They married on September 6, 1959, and together built a family while navigating the unique challenges and adventures of military life.
As an Army wife, Bobbie embraced a life of service alongside her husband, raising three children while moving twenty-seven times throughout his military career. Despite the demands of frequent relocations, she pursued her education with remarkable persistence and determination. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from Central Texas College in 1973 and continued her studies at the University of Maryland, Kansas State University, Madison College, and George Washington University. In 1985, she graduated from American Technological University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 1991.
Bobbie's legal career reflected her intellect, curiosity, and her commitment to her community. After being admitted to the State Bar of Texas, she owned and operated her own law practice for more than thirty years. She served as the first female Municipal Judge for the City of Killeen and became a respected civic leader whose influence extended across Central Texas. She was a successful entrepreneur, co-founder of Strategies for Living and co-founder of Soil Stability Company LLC, conducting business in Texas and China.
Her dedication to public service was reflected in numerous leadership roles. Bobbie served as president of the Nuremberg Officers’ Wives Club, president of the Nuremberg German-American Society, chair of the Killeen Chamber of Commerce, Board of Trustees for the Central Texas College, Board member for the Central Texas College Foundation, president of the Killeen Rotary Club, and a representative of the Texas Bar to South Africa for the rewriting of the country’s constitution.
She took great joy in co-leading Bible studies with her husband Rex throughout their military travels, and was a longtime member at First Baptist Church - Killeen.
Her many accolades include distinguished alumni of Central Texas College, induction into the Rotary District 5870 Roll of Fame, the Department of the Army Civilian Commendation Medal, the Cold War Certificate of Achievement, the U.S. Army Seventh Corps Outstanding Service Pendant, and recognition as Woman of the Year by the Bluebonnet Girl Scout Council. One of her proudest recognitions is the Community Garden in Killeen named in her honor.
Though her accomplishments were many, Bobbie's greatest pride was her family. She cherished every moment spent with those she loved and delighted in watching the future generations of her family grow and thrive from her legacy.
Her wisdom, strength, humor, encouragement, and love touched countless lives. Bobbie's life was a testament to what can be achieved through faith, hard work, courage, and an unwavering commitment to others. She leaves behind a legacy of leadership, service, perseverance, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Charles Rex Weaver; her three children Virginia (Jenny), Brenda, and Charles; her five grandchildren Jarrod, Abigale, Ryan, Emily, and William; her step grandchildren Barry and Brandy and their children; and her ten great-grandchildren Travis, Lainey, Troy, Logan, Jonen, Jasen, Lyla, Julius, Jacksen, and Levi.
A visitation will be held on Sunday July 5, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2026 at First Baptist Church Killeen. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
