Bernice Allen

April 18, 1919July 14, 2011

Funeral service for Bernice F. Allen, 92, of Killeen will be on Wednesday at 12 Noon at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with Rev. Skip Blancett officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery in Killeen. Mrs. Allen passed away on July 14, 2011 in College Station, Texas.

She was born April 18, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas to Duncan and Ida Moulder. She met and married Charles D. Allen, Sr. in 1947 at Kelly Field, Texas. She was employed by Montgomery Wards as a teletype operator for more than 20 years. She was member of the American Business Woman’s Association, she was selected the Woman of the Year in 1993. She was also very active in the All Star Senior Bowling League.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son Charles D. Allen, Jr. Survivors include a son Martin Allen and wife Marcy of Harker Heights, four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11 am-12 Noon at the funeral home.

Martin and Marcie,

Truly sorry to hear about the passing of Bernice. I (Loyd) lost both of my parents in 2006, and my wife, Ellen, lost her dad just a few months before that, all this shortly after our returning to the Killeen area in 2005 to be of assistance to Loyd's parents. Consequently, we're personally acquainted with what you must be feeling now, and will for some time. Again, we're very sorry for your loss.
