On January 14th 1984, Jack and Kelly Chapman, who were in the United States Air Force stationed in San Angelo, Texas, gave birth to their son Christopher James Chapman known as “CJ” to his family and friends. On May 25th 2021, at the age young age of 37, CJ passed away at Baylor Scott & White hospital in Temple, Texas due to medical complications.
CJ Chapman was the world to Jack and Kelly, as they had devoted their entire life and future around him. CJ was his mother’s best friend and as friends do they Lived, Loved, and Laughed. CJ was a gifted horseman at the early age of three; therefore, this mother and son duo traveled all over Central Texas to every arena possible to share the passion they loved so dearly. CJ became a recognizable name to everyone because of his competitive spirit and riding abilities, along with his honesty, respect, and passion for everyone and their horses. Well not just horses, he loved their dogs and kangaroos too! CJ loved to laugh and have fun. His smile was one that immediately warmed your heart as you knew the sincerity of its meaning.
To know CJ, meant you knew where his heart was. He not only wanted to win, he wanted you to win as well. No one has ever yelled louder for another competitor than CJ Chapman, as his voice carried across the arena as “get after em” or “go on” echoed through the arena.
CJ Chapman is survived by his parents Jack and Kelly Chapman, his dog Smash, his Grandfather Richard Chapman and Grandfather Lowell Parsons and Grandmother Margaret Parsons.
A Celebration of Life will be held for CJ Chapman on June the 17th 2021, at 4pm, inside the dome of the Bell County Expo Center. Please send any charitable donations or flowers to Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St, Killeen, Texas 76542 (254-624-2638).
