Carla Ellen Liles passed away May 13, 2026, at the age of 64, in Temple, Texas after battling cancer. The daughter of the late Carl and Martha Sisler, Carla was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on April 26, 1962. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School in Ft. Worth in 1980, she graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. After a few clerical jobs she was encouraged to get certified as a teacher and received a BA in Education from TCU.
She enjoyed painting and travelling and will always be remembered for the devotion she had to teaching her students.
Carla also worked as a schoolteacher in McKinney and was a PE assistant in Leader.
She married Ken Liles on November 19, 2022.
Carla is survived by her brother, David Sisler, her husband, Ken Liles, daughters Lauren Carpenter and Courtney Carpenter, her Aunt Norma Bledsoe and a cousin, Carol.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
