Mrs. Carlota M. Galindo, 88, passed away February 11, 2018 after a short illness. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Killeen, TX. with her family surrounding her. She was born March 21, 1929 in Panama City, Panama.
Mrs. Galindo was truly a woman of her faith and love. Her number one love in life was her family. In 1947 she met her husband, William A. Galindo, in Panama. The two quickly fell in love and were soon married. The two then departed for Puerto Rico and thus unfolded the Legacy of the Galindo family.
Her husband was in the U.S Army; therefore, throughout the years they made their home wherever he was stationed at the time. Mrs. Galindo always knew how to make each new house into a home. She enjoyed cooking for her family and sewing. Her daughters have fond memories of dresses she made them as they grew up. Carlota is most remembered by her infectious smile and her zest for life.
Her family holds dear all the memories they have of her always singing and dancing. Her sons recounted that, despite all the times they got in trouble for being mischievous, how much their mother loved them unconditionally and how grateful they were for having a mother that cared enough to ensue in them the traits and morals that molded them into the adults they are today.
Carlota also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and tending to her prized plants and flowers. Like any other woman, Carlota also enjoyed going shopping for clothes and shoes. Her daughters have fond memories of her preparing for a long day of shopping at her favorite stores and having lunch together. Her daughters, Irma & Elizabeth were the care givers for Mrs. Galindo, their “Mami” and feel privileged and honored to have been able to care for their mom with the dignity and unconditional love that she deserved.
All of Carlota’s family will forever treasure the memories they have of her on family holidays. She loved celebrating holidays with her family, playing musical instruments and eating her favorite foods. Mrs. Carlota instilled in each of her children and grand/ great children the importance of family, and for that we are forever grateful.
