Carmen G. Smith, age 53, passed away December 14 in Temple. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 20 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen. Services are to be held December 21, at 3:00 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Killeen with burial to follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Carmen was born February 22, 1959 to Ted Homer and Karolina (Hertel) Wright in Killeen, Texas. For 18 years she worked as a clerk for Justices of the Peace Robert Stubblefield and Bill Cooke. She was quite the social butterfly and was loved by her family and friends.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Rodney.
Survivors include her two daughters, Nichole Smith (husband Byron) and Brittney Thompson (husband Jimmy); two brothers, Clifford and Jimmy Wright; a sister, Barbara Turner; four granddaughters, Taylor Smith, Kara Ford, Kendall Thompson, and Lauren Thompson, and two grandsons, Jayson Ford and Quinton Ford.
