He spent his early years in the Anderson and Pendleton area; graduating from Pendleton High School in 1960.
Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and spent his working years serving his county retiring in 1989. Following his retirement he worked as a civilian contractor at Fort Hood, serving in Desert Storm and continued until a permanent debilitating car accident in 1996.
He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Heart of Texas Bass club and NRA.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories; his sister, Mary (Gerald) Titus of Greenfield, IN; brothers, Karl (Fay) Craig of Pendleton, IN, Rod (Shardell) Craig of Foley, AL; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and his Texas family, Phil Hallmark, Kim and John Frederick and Jerry and Rose Eller.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Eden United Methodist Church in Eden, Indiana.
