Charles Melvin Dill

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Melvin Dill, who entered into the presence of his Lord on July 1, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on February 5, 1947, in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Charles made his home in Harker Heights, Texas, where he built a life centered on his devotion to his wife and love for others.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, dedicating many years to military service before retiring. His commitment to duty, integrity, and honor remained evident throughout every season of his life. Those who knew him admired his quiet strength, unwavering character, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Above all else, Charles was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Rita Dill. Their marriage was a beautiful example of steadfast love and commitment. Charles took great joy in caring for Rita, making sure she was always loved, protected, and cherished. He delighted in surprising her with beautiful perfumes and thoughtful gifts, rarely coming home empty-handed. Through every challenge life brought, he remained her constant source of strength—her rock, her comfort, and her greatest supporter.

Charles was also a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Dill; his children and grandchildren, whom he loved dearly; his older brother and younger brother; along with many extended family members and treasured friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

To his neighbors and friends, Charles was simply one of the good ones. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or brighten someone’s day with his presence. His generosity, compassion, and genuine care for others made him deeply respected and greatly loved throughout the community. His kindness left an imprint on countless lives.

Although our hearts grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love, sacrifice, and selfless devotion will continue through those who knew him. Charles leaves behind a family strengthened by his example, a community blessed by his friendship, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.

Charles will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored. His love, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
