Charles E Fisher

Charles Fisher was born on June 5, 1957, in Temple, Texas, to Mary Luella Barton Fisher and Joe B. Evans. He was a member of 10th & Ave. M Church of Christ in Temple, Texas.

After serving 20 years in the United States Army, Charles retired from the military service. He carried that same strength, discipline, and dedication throughout every part of his life.

Charles was a strong, funny, outspoken man who loved deeply and lived life on his own terms. He accepted Christ at an early age and was known for his strength, wisdom, and the love he carried for his family and friends.

He was known to many as “your favorite DJ,” “8 Piece,” and “Uncle Grandpa.” He was also known to many as Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend, but to his family he was a protector, a provider, and a source of love and laughter that can never be replaced.

His favorite saying:

“Your problems are not my problems.”

Charles Fisher departed this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, and unforgettable memories that will forever live on through those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Charlotte Ann Fisher of Georgetown, Charles Fisher Jr. of Austin, Shree Renee Slay (Ronald) of Temple, and Monique Vaughn (Tommy) of DeKalb; his sisters and brothers, Mary Brooks (John) and George Barton, both of Temple, Doris Aldridge of Round Rock, Debra Evans Epps (William) of Fair Bluff, and Kenneth Anderson of Fair Bluff; grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of lifelong friends and loved ones.

Charles will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His laughter, wisdom, music, and love will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Visitation will be held on May 26, 2026, from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, Texas 76542. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Hwy 195, Killeen, TX 76542.
